Registration is located at the Spinnaker Beach Club. Registration is Friday the day prior to race date, 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm and Race Day, 6:30 am - 7:15 am.

Race Course
Swim - 1/3 mile in the emerald green waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
Bike - 15 miles along the beautiful beach of Panama City Beach.
Run - 3.1 miles through the beach's residential area.

The Emerald Coast Triathlon Series is a USA  Triathlon sanctioned race. All participants, if not a USAT  member, including relay members, must purchase a one day  license ($10) at check-in or you may include it with your  entry fee.

Event Description:
For the Triathlon and Aqua  Bike...Swim 1/3 mile in the in the beautiful emerald green  waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Experience the thrill of an open  water swim. The water is usually flat and very calm in the morning. The course is well marked with buoys and for  additional assistance there are volunteers with kayaks and  personal watercraft. For the Triathlon and Duathlon and Aqua Bike... The bike  course is a 15 mile flat, fast course that takes you along the  white sands of the World's Most Beautiful Beaches. A water  station is at the turnaround mark with water and gatorade.  Police are numerous and are located at all major  intersections. Please thank them as you pass by. We do penalize for drafting.  For the Triathlon and Duathlon...Run 3.1 miles on a picturesque out and back course complete with the most  friendly and energetic volunteers.  Aqua Run is the same as the Bike except it is a 1/3 mile  swim and a 3.1 mile run.  Relay teams are welcome in Triathlons, Duathlons and Aqua  Bike. It is permitted to have a two person team for the  Triathlon or Duathlon but two person teams are not eligible  for awards.  Awards are presented 3 deep in all age categories, including masters (over 40), grandmasters (over 50), great grandmasters (over 60), military, clydesdale and athena...  Prepare yourself, your family and all volunteers for the  best post race awards party on the beach located at the world  famous Spinnaker Beach Club. The party's for you, the food is  great, the beverages are cold. Bring the whole family!! It's a  celebration!!

Series Awards - Awards will be distributed to the Series winners in the Overall Division, Age Group Divisions, and the Fastest Split Divisions. You must race 3 of the 4 races to be eligible. The awards will be comprised of valuable merchandise and gift certificates.

2nd place = 7 points
3rd place = 5 points
4th place = 3 points

Rules - This is a USA Triathlon monitored course. ANSI approved helmets are required. NO drafting! The series winners will be calculated by a point system that is awarded 5 deep in the divisions as specified. Relay teams can be 2 or 3 person teams. Fat-tired bikes are permitted to compete, but do not have a specified division.

We have experienced a variety of natural disasters. According to the National Weather Service we are in a period of increased hurricane activity for some time to come.  This is difficult on everyone but especially athletes in the late summer and fall participating in events in Florida.  Our athletes enter events to have fun with their friends and family - not to get prepared for an event that can't happen.  However, the courses are set up and all the costs to put on the event, which are substantial, had already been spent.
If an Act of God/terrorism/Community Disaster occurs, what actions are taken?

• We  will make decisions based on athlete safety
• Races  will be altered as seen fit and with cooperation of local authorities  
• Athletes  in that race will have first right to sign up for that event the next year.  
• Emerald  Coast Events, Inc. cannot accept the risk of a disaster for everyone. We ask  each athlete to accept the risk of his or her entry fee. Starting April 1,  2002, there will be NO REFUNDS or free entries to other future races in the  event of a natural disaster cancellation.  
• Why  this policy?  The money you paid in entry fees is spent developing that  specific race at that particular venue.  We don't save any money if the  course isn't utilized, nor are we refunded any money. Supplies have been  ordered and paid for as well as most of the services needed for that race  (race supplies or services associated with that race, regardless of the outcome, permits, rangers and staffing.
